Two pilots eject as RAF Trainer crashes in North Wales

Two pilots have safely ejected from the Bae Hawk T2 jet trainer during a sortie from RAF Valley before it crashed into the ground on Anglesey, North Wales.

Images of the crash shows pilots struggling to control the aircraft, which is used for Royal Air Force (RAF) fast jet training, before ejecting from the aircraft.

The pilotless Hawk T2 is then seen to fly on for a short time before crashing into the ground causing a huge fireball.

North Wales police confirmed the incident and said that the two pilots were being treated for “minor injuries” and they are believed to have been flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham which is home to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine.

There are no reports of any injuries on the ground.

The RAF said it was investigating the crash.
