UK requires arriving passengers to quarantine for 14 days

From the end of May, passengers arriving into UK airports will be required to quarantine for 14 days to help stop the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The travel restriction will affect passengers from all countries except France and the Republic of Ireland and means that passengers will be required to self-isolate at a private residence for 2 weeks.

The measure hasn’t been formally announced yet by the UK Government but UK airlines have been told of the plans.

The proposal has come under criticism for being too late as thousands of Britons have arrived back at UK airports from across the globe on repatriation flights with no requirement to quarantine.

More details will be known when the measure is formally announced.
