The latest named storm to hit the UK, Storm Chandra, was causing significant disruption at UK airports this morning with strong winds and flooding affecting many areas.
According to data from viation analytics firm Cirium, as of 15L15hrs 78 flights had been cancelled from UK airports, including 4 that were due to depart across the Atlantic to the US.
A further 71 inbound flights were also cancelled with Belfast City )BHD/EGAC) being the worst affected with 28 departures and 25 arrivals cancelled.
The UK’s busiest airport, London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) saw 10 departures cancelled with 5 arrivals also not operating and Manchester Airport (MAN/EGCC) saw 6 departures and 6 arrivals cancelled.
Birmingham Airport (BHX/EGBB) was also significantly affected with 8 departures and 8 arrivals cancelled.
In total, 1683 departures are due to leave UK airports today.
Amber and Yellow weather warnings still remain in place for Northern Ireland, and some areas of of northern England and Scotland with some lasting into Thursday morning meaning that further disruption is likely.
