Gunmen enter Turkish Aerospace near Ankara

Five people have been killed and 22 injured a terrorist attack on Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) site near Ankara, Türkiye.

Images and video shared on Twitter purport to show Gunmen entering the site following an explosion outside the site. Turkish officials have placed the blame on a Kurdish rebel group called The Kurdistan Workers Group (PKK).

Videos on social media show Turkish Special Forces arriving on site as well as CCTV images of gunmen in the facility. Turkish Officials say the gunmen had been “neutralised”.

State-owned Turkish Aerospace is key player in the Turkish aviation industry as well as defence projects. They recently displayed their latest Helicopter at the Farnborough Air Show.
