If you were out and about in Cardiff this afternoon you were in for a big surprise as a seaplane touched down in Cardiff Bay.

The Cessna 182R Amphibian arrived at Cardiff Airport this morning ahead of its operations in Cardiff Bay later that afternoon.

The aircraft, G-ESSL, operated around and in the bay for filming and wore the patriotic registration GWLAD along with a red and gold colour scheme.

A Notice to Mariners, warned that the aircraft would be landing in Cardiff Bay at 16:40hrs before taxiing around the bay for a period of time before it departs.

It is understood to taking part in a Welsh promotional film and given the “registration” and colour scheme, it could be connected with Welsh Rugby.
