Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has reported a strong operational performance for the first half of 2025, with notable increases in passenger numbers, flight activity, and punctuality.

According to the airline’s latest performance report, Saudia carried more than 17.5 million passengers between January and June 2025 – a 7.2% rise compared to the same period in 2024. This growth was driven by the operation of over 100,000 flights, a 4% increase year-on-year, across the carrier’s extensive network spanning four continents.

In total, the airline recorded more than 293,500 flight hours during the six-month period while achieving an impressive on-time performance (OTP) rate of 89.6%. Saudia was ranked the most punctual airline in the world for March and June 2025, according to Cirium, a leading global aviation analytics firm.

International travel saw solid growth, with Saudia transporting more than 9.6 million international passengers – a 5% increase compared to the first half of 2024. The airline operated over 43,700 international flights, a 3% rise on the previous year. On the domestic front, more than 7.9 million passengers flew with Saudia – a 10% increase – across 56,400 domestic flights.

The airline attributed the improved performance to the dedication of its Saudi workforce and the implementation of advanced digital systems designed to enhance operational efficiency and the passenger experience.

Saudia currently operates a fleet of 148 aircraft. With plans to add 117 new aircraft in the coming years, the airline aims to boost frequency on existing routes, increase overall capacity, and launch new international destinations. These expansions are in line with the Kingdom’s broader objectives in tourism, entertainment, sports, and services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

Saudia recently opened their dedicated lounge at London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) Terminal 4, the first dedicated lounge in Europe.
