Saudia opens dedicated lounge at London Heathrow

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has officially unveiled its first dedicated lounge in Europe at London Heathrow Airport (LHR/EGLL), marking a significant milestone in the airline’s international expansion.

Situated in Terminal 4, the new Saudia Lounge offers an exclusive retreat for the airline’s Business and First Class passengers, providing them with a refined and immersive pre-flight experience that reflects the rich culture and hospitality of Saudi Arabia.

The lounge serves a diverse selection of hot and cold dishes inspired by authentic Saudi cuisine, with tailored offerings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From traditional Arabic flavours to international favourites, the culinary experience is designed to cater to a variety of palates. During the launch event, guests were treated to the breakfast menu, which featured an impressive spread including cold meats and cheeses, hot items such as sausages, bacon, and eggs, as well as lighter continental options.

In addition to a curated menu, the lounge boasts a wide array of beverages. Guests can enjoy both soft and alcoholic drinks, alongside a comprehensive range of speciality teas—from classic English Breakfast to aromatic loose-leaf green teas and more.

The space itself is elegant and serene, with a light and airy design complemented by tasteful Arabic-inspired décor. The interiors aim to transport travellers into the heart of Saudi culture, offering a warm and welcoming environment that begins their journey before even departing British soil.

The decision to establish a dedicated lounge at Heathrow forms part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 strategy. This national initiative seeks to diversify the country’s economy and boost its tourism sector by significantly increasing the number of international visitors. As part of this vision, Saudia aims to position Jeddah as a major global transit hub, with a target of handling 330 million passengers annually by the end of the decade.

London was chosen as the location for Saudia’s first European lounge due to its importance as a key gateway for both business and leisure travellers. The airline has also revealed plans to extend its premium lounge offering to other major European cities, with future openings planned at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Istanbul airports.

With this new lounge, Saudia is not only elevating the travel experience for its premium customers but also reinforcing its commitment to expanding its international footprint and showcasing Saudi hospitality to the world.
