RAF Typhoons launched to intercept Ryanair flight

Royal Air Force Typhoon Display Team

Two Royal Air Force (RAF) Typhoons were launched on Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) earlier this evening to intercept Ryanair flight FR7364.

The two aircraft took off from RAF Conningsby along with an RAF Voyager tanker from RAF Brize Norton.

The tasking was to a Laudamotion Airbus A320 (OE-LMB), which was operating the Ryanair flight, due to a suspicious object found in the toilet.

FR7364 is a flight from Vienna to London Stansted and the aircraft was escorted to Stansted where it landed safely just after 7pm.
