Loganair, the UK’s leading regional airline, has announced a significant multi-year contract with energy giant BP to provide dedicated personnel transportation between Aberdeen and Sumburgh.
The agreement reinforces Loganair’s role as a cornerstone of the North Sea energy sector, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of workers to support bp’s ongoing operations.
Reliable Connectivity for the Energy Sector
Under the terms of the new deal, Loganair will deploy its ATR-42 fleet to service the route. These aircraft are well-suited for the challenging conditions of the Northern Isles, offering the high levels of reliability required for time-sensitive offshore logistics.

The contract comes at a time of significant momentum for the airline. Loganair has been instrumental in maintaining regional stability following the collapse of Blue Islands in late 2025, quickly stepping in to pick up vital routes to Jersey and the Channel Islands.
Other recent milestones for the carrier include:
- Infrastructure: The launch of its 10th regional base in Southampton earlier this year.
- Performance: Being named the most punctual airline of 2025 by the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
