Loganair has unveiled a special tribute to the Armed Forces community ahead of Remembrance Day, with the official Poppyscotland logo being displayed on aircraft within its fleet.
The initiative will see the aircraft operate across Loganair’s extensive network, carrying a visible symbol of remembrance to communities throughout Scotland and the wider UK in the lead-up to 11th of November.
The tribute reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to supporting those who have served, continue to serve, and the families who support them. Loganair is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and achieved Gold status under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) in 2023, recognising its commitment to the Armed Forces community.
Through these commitments, the airline supports serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families, acknowledging the valuable contribution they make to both the business and wider society.
Natalie Bush, Chief Operating Officer of Loganair, said: “We are proud to display the Poppyscotland logo on one of our aircraft as a mark of respect and remembrance for all those who have served and sacrificed in defence of our country.
“As an airline that connects communities across Scotland and the UK, we are honoured to help carry this important message in the lead-up to Remembrance Day. Our commitment to the Armed Forces community extends beyond this tribute through our support as a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, and we remain grateful for the contribution of serving personnel, veterans and military families.”
Leanne Bonner, Head of Scotland at Poppyscotland, welcomed the initiative, highlighting the importance of the partnership in raising awareness of the Scottish Poppy Appeal and the support it provides to veterans and their families.
“We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Loganair for this magnificent gesture. Having our poppy take to the skies is a beautiful, visible reminder that the legacy of military service lives on within our local communities.
“The funds raised through the Scottish Poppy Appeal are a lifeline, allowing us to provide critical housing, financial, employment, and mental health services. This partnership helps us honour and support the veterans and military families who rightfully deserve our unwavering backing,” she said.
The aircraft will continue to operate scheduled services across the Loganair network throughout the remembrance period, helping to raise awareness of Poppyscotland’s annual campaign while paying tribute to those who have served.
The initiative provides a high-profile platform for the charity’s message, taking the symbol of remembrance to destinations across the airline’s network and reinforcing Loganair’s longstanding support for the Armed Forces community.
