Low-cost transatlantic travel looks set to arrive at London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) this summer after it emerged that JetBlue appears to have been successful in obtaining slots on the 2nd time of trying.

Information released by Airport Coordination Ltd, the UK slot regulator appears to show 14 weekly slots allocated to the US airline from 2nd August. This increases to 22 in September and last until 30th October.

It is unclear whether these are temporary or permanent but JetBlue has long had ambitions to fly into London and secured slots at Stansted & Gatwick after failing to secure slots at Heathrow last year.

The airline is looking disrupt transatlantic air travel to New York and Boston.
