The inaugural Hampshire Air Festival which was due to take place this weekend (12th and 13th of September) has been cancelled after the company organising the event collapsed.
In a statement the company said: “It is with profound sadness that directors of Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited have to announce the cancellation of the Hampshire Air Festival 2026 due to take place at Thruxton,”
“As a consequence, steps are bing taken to put the business into liquidation,”
Rather than offering refunds to those who have purchased tickets, the company says that ticket holders should contact their bank or credit card provider to see what options are available to them.
According to Companies House filings, Montserrat Events & Festivals Limited was only formed in December 2025 by Hampshire businessmen Vaughan Bidewell and Jonathan Moore and would have received payouts from advanced ticket sales and sponsorship of the event from companies including UK Government contractor Babcock.
Customers who paid by Credit card are protected from the cancellation and will be able to get their money back although debit card holders face a slightly tougher fight with no automatic proaction.
The organisers also started a Founding 200 scheme allowing business to purchase a founding mermbership for £300+ vat in return for a ‘visible prescence’ at the airshow.
