Embraer has confirmed that its KC-390 Millennium military transport aircraft has successfully concluded a major international demonstration campaign, achieving a 100% mission completion rate.
The extensive tour saw the aircraft fly more than 47,000 nautical miles across 54 flights, operating in 11 countries over a period exceeding 70 days. The campaign culminated with an appearance at FIDAE in Chile, before the aircraft returned to Embraer’s Defence headquarters in Gavião Peixoto, Brazil.
Over the course of the tour, the KC-390 accumulated approximately 140 flight hours, operating in a wide range of environmental conditions—from Arctic cold to the hot and humid climates of Asia. The campaign was designed to test the aircraft across diverse operational scenarios, with Embraer reporting consistently high performance and availability throughout.
Demonstrations included a broad spectrum of cargo missions, such as the transportation of containers, medical modules, and both light and heavy vehicles, alongside palletised loads. These operations were intended to showcase the aircraft’s flexibility across tactical and logistical roles, as well as its adaptability to varying mission requirements.
Each of the 54 flights contributed to validating the maturity of the KC-390 programme, reinforcing its interoperability, operational efficiency, and reduced operating costs. Embraer highlighted the aircraft’s ability to meet the stringent demands of modern air forces, positioning it as a competitive option within the medium-lift military transport segment.
The global campaign began at the Singapore Airshow in late January and included stops in key markets such as Poland, Sweden and the United States, before concluding in South America. According to Embraer, the tour further strengthens the KC-390 Millennium’s standing as a next-generation transport aircraft capable of performing complex missions in challenging environments worldwide.
