Airbus has launched a new cloud-based pilot training service for recurrent and initial type rating training for its A320 family of aircraft.

The Mobile Airbus Training Experience (MATe) gives subscribers access to a wealth of training materials including a 3D interactive virtual cockpit.

The system has been built on the success of AirbusAirbus Cockpit Experience (ACE) system and has been developed with portability and compatibility in mind.

The system champions the companies competency based training philosophy and Airbus Flight Training Reference (AFTR) standard which provides higher knowledge retention and time saving training.

Air Malta and IndiGo are two of the airlines that have already signed up to use the system for pilot training.

MATe will be extended to include the A330 and A350 families in 2022.
