Virgin Atlantic is gearing up for an exciting year in 2026, with two major new long-haul routes launching from London Heathrow. These additions expand the airline’s global network and offer UK travellers fresh opportunities to explore Asia’s most vibrant destinations.

London Heathrow to Seoul – Launching 29 March 2026

Virgin Atlantic will begin daily direct flights between London Heathrow and Seoul Incheon from March 2026. This marks the airline’s first-ever service to South Korea and represents a significant step in Virgin Atlantic’s eastward expansion.

The route will be operated using the Boeing 787-9, offering a choice of Upper Class, Premium and Economy cabins. Through airline partnerships, the new service will also provide convenient onward connections across Northeast Asia, Greater China, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand.

For UK travellers, the new Seoul service opens the door to one of Asia’s most captivating cities — a place where ancient palaces stand alongside neon-lit districts, tech innovation and a globally influential pop-culture scene.

London Heathrow to Phuket – Launching 18 October 2026

Just in time for winter-sun season, Virgin Atlantic will introduce a new seasonal route from London Heathrow to Phuket. Operating three times per week, this will be the only direct service between London and Thailand’s largest island.

Also operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the route offers an easy escape to Thailand’s tropical beaches, turquoise waters and relaxed island lifestyle. Virgin Atlantic Holidays will offer flight-and-hotel packages, with a range of resorts suitable for families, couples and adventure seekers.

The Phuket service will run during the winter months, making it an ideal choice for travellers looking to swap cold UK weather for warm, sunny days in Southeast Asia.

A Strategic Step for Virgin Atlantic

The two new routes show Virgin Atlantic’s continued shift towards leisure-focused and Asia-bound destinations. Seoul strengthens the airline’s presence in a key global market, while Phuket adds a highly sought-after holiday destination to its seasonal network.

With modern, fuel-efficient aircraft and an expanding route map, Virgin Atlantic is positioning itself to meet growing demand for long-haul travel from the UK.
