Two men badly injured in Coventry light aircraft crash

Two men have suffered life-threatening injuries and burns in a light aircraft crash in near Coventry.

The aircraft came down in a field near the village of Wolvey around 4pm this afternoon.

The West Midlands ambulance service said that the injured men were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, West Midlands. They added that the aircraft had been “completely destroyed” and the men were in a critical condition.

The Air Accident Investigations Branch (AAIB) has confirmed it sending a team to the scene.
