Two killed in Yorkshire plane crash

The pilot and passenger of a light aircraft were killed when their aircraft crashed in a field near Selby, North Yorkshire earlier today.

The incident occurred at around 09:30 this morning and Yorkshire Ambulance Service reported receiving calls about a crash involving a light aircraft near Thorganby. Yorkshire Ambulance Service said, A number of our resources have responded to the incident.”

Police confirmed that next of kin had been informed and that the identification process was now underway.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) has been informed and is sending a team to the site to begin the investigation into the incident.
