Turkish Airlines has announced it will launch direct flights between London Stansted (STN/EGSS) and iGA Istanbul Airport form March next year boosting the connections to the Turkish gateway city to three London Airports.
Türkiye’s flag carrier airline will fly direct between Stansted and Istanbul up to 14 times per week from the 18th March 2026 in response to rising demand for flights to Istanbul from the UK.
When the flights get underway it will bring the number of Turkish Airlines flights from the UK and Ireland to 170 per week.
Mehmet Gurulkan, Turkish Airlines’ General Manager for London, said: “We are delighted to launch flights from London Stansted, further strengthening our commitment to the UK market. This new service increases our total weekly UK – Istanbul frequencies, providing passengers even more choice and greater connectivity to our global network. By operating from Stansted, we are happy to support the airport’s continued growth and contribute to job creation and economic development in the region.”
Gareth Powell, Managing Director at London Stansted Airport, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Turkish Airlines to London Stansted. This is a major milestone for the airport and a strong vote of confidence in both our operation and the vibrant, fast-growing region we serve.
iGA Istanbul Airport is the worlds most connected hub airport and with Turkish Airlines flying to more countries than any other airline it offers a real alternative to transit through.
But don’t miss out on Istanbul itself though, whether its an extended stopover or a city break, the city that spans two continents has a lot to offer UK passengers.
