Ryanair has reached an agreement with the union representing Irish Airline pilots in a bid end strikes.

The dispute over how the airline handled base transfers, annual leave and promotions has been going on since July and has seen multiple walkouts by Pilots from the Irish Airline Pilots Association (IALPA)  (part of the FORSA Union) leading to hundreds of flights being cancelled.

The agreement comes after the latest round of talks that began on Wednesday morning and ended this morning after 22 hours.

Pilots will now be balloted on the proposal with the union recommending that it is accepted.

Details of the proposal have not been made public but are rumored to include significant concessions from the budget airline which has been forced to pay thousands in compensation to customers hit by the industrial action in recent weeks.
