Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines (FlyPGS) is rolling out AI-enabled cabin announcements across its fleet in a ground-breaking new multilingual project to improve passenger experience.

Developed by Pegasus Innovation Lab, established last year in Silicon Valley, the AI system is programmed with the synthesised voices of pilots who work at Pegasus and will provide personalised announcements in Spanish, Arabic and Russian following the Turkish and English announcements which the flight crew will still make.

The system will use AI to ensure the announcements include flight information, weather, destination, the captain’s name, and flight duration meaning passengers will hear announcements in their native language. All of the information will be updated before take-off for each flight.

The system is rolling out on all Pegasus flights to destinations where the language spoken is either Spanish, Arabic or Russian.
