  1. In their haste to compete with Bombardier’s brand new clean sheet state of the art Passenger jet,the Cseries,Boeing and Airbus re-engined their older 737 and A-320 respectively, this has proven to be disastrous for Boeing as their new more efficient engines were not entirely compattible with their very old 737 design. In my opinion, they went to well too often. They would have needed to invest billions of dollars in a brand new Passenger jet.Instead, they tried to kill the competition who did just that.Boeing partially succeeded by putting Bombardier out of the Commercial Plane business.Airbus rescued the Cseries from Bombardier (that’s another story)and will continue to thrive in that segment.Sadly, because of this,Boeing’s woes are far from being over.

    • This is an -800 series which has crashed,
      NOT
      the radically re-engined -MAX series,
which had the 2 total losses in 2018 & 19,
due to the ‘undisclosed’ & flawed, automated MCAS system.
