Flights in and out of Scotland’s busiest airport were suspended this morning after an IT issue affected Air Traffic Control.

Air Traffic services at Edinburgh Airport (EDI/EGPH) are provided by ANSL not the UK’s main provider, NATS which is why disruption is limited to one airport.

Several flights were due to leave when the IT issue struck with several aircraft showing as halted on taxiways.

In a statement Edinburgh Airport said: “Due to an IT issue with our air traffic control provider no flights are currently operating from Edinburgh Airport

“Teams are working on the issue and will resolve as soon as possible.

“We will provide updates when possible – please contact your airline for the latest information on your flight”

Aircraft movements restarted around 10:40am local time.
