easyJet launches new Southampton service

Leading low-cost carrier easyJet (U2/EZY) has a launched a new twice-weekly service to Barcelona from Southampton Airport (SOU/EGHI).

The new route operates on Mondays and Fridays giving passengers the chance to visit the city for a long weekend or a 5 day mini break.

As the capital of Spain’s Calatlan region, Barcelona is steeped in history and stunning architecture including the soon to be finished Sagrada Familia.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s country manager, said: “We are delighted to have launched flights on our new route from Southampton to Barcelona, providing a direct connection for our customers in the south to one of Spain’s most exciting cities.”

Barcelona also gives access to the the beaches of Spain’s Northern Mediterranean coast.
