Flights have now restarted at Birmingham Airport (BHX/EGBB) after having been suspended earlier after a landing incident involving a Beech B200 Super King Air which left it stranded on the runway.
The aircraft, G-NIAA, was operating a flight from Birmingham to Belfast when it developed an issue with its landing gear and carried out an emergency landing back at the airport leading to collapse of its main gear.
Images of the incident show the aircraft, owned by Woodgate Aviation. half on half off the runway with clear damage to its main landing gear.

One person with minor injuries has been reported following the incident.
As a result of the incident several flights for airlines including Jet2, easyJet, Ryanair, Turkish Airlines and Air Baltic have been diverted to other airports.
Passengers due to check in are still advised to contact their airline or check the airports website.

The aircraft is the same type that recently crashed at Southend Airport killing four people.
The Super King Air is a business aviation aircraft popular with small charter companies for executive charters and shorter business flights.
