UK-based aircraft painting specialist Airbourne Colours has been selected by Austrian Airlines to carry out a major repainting programme for the carrier’s Airbus A320 fleet.

Under the agreement, ten aircraft will be repainted at Airbourne Colours’ facility at East Midlands Airport, providing a strong start to 2026 for the company’s aircraft painting and refinishing operations.

The programme is already in progress, with a series of consecutive aircraft inputs scheduled during the opening months of the year. Airbourne Colours says the back-to-back workflow will ensure efficient turnaround times while maintaining the high-quality finish required by international airline customers.

The latest contract further strengthens the company’s standing as a trusted partner to major European carriers, with a focus on asset protection, brand presentation and minimising aircraft downtime.

Simon Cracknell, Sales & Marketing Director at Airbourne Colours, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Austrian Airlines to our growing portfolio of European airline customers. Starting the year with such a high-profile programme underlines the confidence our partners have in our capabilities and commitment to excellence.”

In addition to its East Midlands base, Airbourne Colours operates two dedicated aircraft paint hangars at Teesside International Airport. The second Teesside facility opened in November 2025, expanding capacity and reinforcing the company’s position as one of the UK’s leading independent aircraft painting providers.
