AAIB sending team to Kent plane crash

The Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) has confirmed it is sending a team to the scene of a light aircraft crash in Kent.

The aircraft came down in a field in the village of Postling near Hythe around 2 pm this afternoon.

Fire and Ambulance crews attended the scene which is near Pent Farm airfield.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “At 2.05pm on Sunday, July 21 Kent Police was notified that a light aircraft had crashed in a field in Postling near Hythe.

“Officers are currently at the scene with partner agencies including the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.”

It is not known whether there are any injuries or how many people were onboard the aircraft.
